Product Specialist - Sales

Full-time

We are seeking experienced, motivated, and conscientious individuals to fill a full-time position at Spotix Inc., a leader in outdoor living products (Hearth, Patio, & BBQ). We are a rapidly growing e-commerce company located in North Liberty, Iowa. We value personal integrity, teamwork, accountability, problem solving, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.


The Product Specialist must have the ability to manage multi-faceted outdoor living projects with varying degrees of requirements. This position is responsible for answering in-bound phone calls & online “live” chats. You must demonstrate enthusiasm for the position while maintaining productivity goals and meeting quality, sales, and customer service standards. We put a premium on personal integrity, teamwork, accountability, problem solving, a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills are a must. This is a salaried full-time position. Hours of work are Monday-Friday (8a -5p), no weekends required.

Product Specialist Core Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Handle call flow without rest between calls
  • Consistent use of a computer and multiple programs
  • Promotes, sells and upsells current customers and prospective customers
  • Ability to multi-task while handling customer calls/chats
  • Professional email etiquette, strong written (typing) skills and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to educate or guide customers through product mix based on needs
  • Previous sales experience in an inbound “warm lead” environment a plus
  • Effectively communicate order status on topics such as back-ordered, out of stock merchandise, tracking information
  • Provide prospective customers and current customers with quotes/product drawings, etc.
  • Monitor product innovations and competitors’ products/services
  • Confident and engaging personality

Position Requirements & Desired Skills:

Sit/stand for 8+ hours/day, Consultative sales style, Customer Service, communication, process follow-through and development, procedural troubleshooting, computer literacy, responsibility, efficiency & personal/time management.

Junior Web Developer

Full-time

The Junior Web Developer is responsible for developing and customizing many aspects of Spotix and its six other websites. You’ll implement features that help illustrate the vision of Spotix and its customer first driven approach to eCommerce. You’ll work closely with other developers, as well as the design and content teams.

As a Junior Web Developer, you will:

  • Develop within the Magento 2.x eCommerce platform
  • Develop applications within the NetSuite platform using NetSuite’s Javascript based SuiteScript API
  • Ensure a consistent website experience between desktop and mobile devices
  • Continue learning new technologies

You’re a great candidate if you have:

  • Experience with frontend web development using HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Ability to communicate between teams
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to prioritize projects and adapt to project changes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Desire to learn and implement new skills on a regular basis
  • Strong attention to detail with a mind on secure programming
  • Experience with server-side programming with PHP (preferred, but not required)
  • Experience with RequireJS and Javascript AMD (preferred, but not required)
  • Experience using linux or unix command line (preferred, but not required)

Web Catalog Specialist

Full-time

This is a full-time position with a rapidly growing e-commerce company in North Liberty, Iowa. We are interested in local candidates with the ability and ambition to increase our online content production and become an integral part of our content team.

In this role, you will work with our content and creative teams to gather and produce information essential to listing new products on our websites and on marketplaces. In addition, you will assist our team in managing current listings and help us continue to hone and refine our strategic process to increase our conversion rate.

Our Mission: To build a team that produces excellent web content that goes above and beyond our competitors’ and continue our growth/presence as a premier online retailer.

As a Web Catalog Specialist, you will:

  • Work as part of a team to create content used for product listings.
  • Research appropriate product and category information.
  • Write compelling, high-quality content that engages customers and increases conversions.
  • Use Excel and other data-based interfaces to import/export product information and utilize formulas and tools to increase efficiency.
  • Be extremely thorough and detail-focused when creating product listings to minimize returns.
  • Troubleshoot errors and implement or improve processes to reduce future issues.

You’re a great candidate if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Personal ambition and motivation to seek out projects and opportunities that return on your time investment.
  • The ability to work with and without guidance, learn independently, and continue to push yourself to take on more responsibility.
  • Aptitude to creatively and innovatively solve problems on your own, but are willing to seek out advice when necessary.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and the capacity to work with short-form content, technical materials, and hard data.
  • High attention to detail and thoroughness – a strive for near-perfection.
